Manufactured Housing: File A Complaint
How do I file a complaint?
When a complaint is filed against a licensee, the Division will contact the complaining party and may send an inspector to the site to determine whether there are any violations of HUD code or MHD rules and regulations. This type of inspection is at the expense of the licensee, not the consumer. However, if a consumer requests an inspection solely for their own information, the inspection will be conducted at the consumer's expense.
What if there are problems with cosmetic items in the home, how do I file a complaint?
We do not accept any complaints about purely cosmetic problems, for instance, wrong color, no curtains, or where there are differences between parties, for example between the dealer and the consumer.
What type of complaints does the Division accept?
Complaints that can be addressed by the Division are those such as holes in walls, leaking roofs, squeaking floor joists, bowed walls, or any structural damage to the home.
