The Board of Funeral Services licenses and regulates funeral directors, funeral homes, and crematoriums to ensure proper and dignified disposal of those who have departed.

The primary responsibility and obligation of the board is to protect the public in the handling and care of the deceased, and the sensitivities of those who survive, whether or not they desire rites or ceremonies.

The board also investigates complaints from customers and takes appropriate disciplinary actions when applicable, and when required standards are violated.
