No Fingerprint Card Requirement at Present
Although the Board’s rules state a requirement for fingerprint cards, the language of the Act is not sufficient to authorize the Department of Public Safety and the FBI to perform federal background checks. Therefore, the Board will not conduct background checks requiring fingerprint cards until the Animal Sheltering Services Act has been amended. At present, the Board requires only a state background check, which is authorized by the form included in the Euthanasia Technician and Euthanasia Instructor applications.
