Uniform CPA Examination
The Uniform CPA Examination, developed and scored by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, is required of every person seeking licensure as a Certified Public Accountant. The examination is now computer-based.
Education Prerequisite
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, at least 30 hours of which must be in accounting. No more that 3 of the 30 hours may be in business law. Finance courses are not acceptable in lieu of accounting courses. Candidates must complete 150 semester hours of credit to be eligible for a CPA certificate.

Registration
Uniform CPA Examination registration is conducted by CPA Examination Services (CPAES), a branch of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). All inquiries, applications, and transcripts must be submitted directly to CPAES. Applications are available on the CPAES website.
