Notice

We are happy to inform you of some significant changes to the Statute and Rules which govern Licensed Interior Designers in the state of New Mexico. The Act provides that no person may use or be identified by the title “Licensed Interior Designer” unless they are actually licensed. A lawsuit filed in Federal Court challenging this provision of the Act has been dismissed. The Interior Design Board is now able to enforce this provision of the law and may take action against unlicensed persons who describe themselves as “Licensed Interior Designers."

Note that in accordance with the new rules, 16.42.3.14 A, all licenses issued by the board expire October 1st each year and eight hours of Continuing Education are required for the renewal of your license.
