Welcome to the New Mexico Athletic Commission!
The New Mexico Athletic Commission is dedicated to providing control and direction of all professional martial arts contests conducted or exhibited within its jurisdiction. These contests include, but are not limited to boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, and karate.
It is the purpose and intent of the Commission to:
- Ascertain the health, safety, and well being of all contestants in these sports.
- Protect those involved in the training, performing, seconding, officiating, management, and promotion of these sports, as well as the public at large, from illegal and unethical practices.
- Collect all taxes and fees due the State of New Mexico from the sale, lease or gift of tickets or radio, television, and motion picture rights.
- Encourage and assist young amateur athletes participating in these sports to gain proficiency in the skill, sportsmanship, health, safety, and business aspects of their sport.
